Young People in Emergency Accommodation

Municipal District: 20 November 2020

Question : Can the council confirm, how many young people <12 years, 13-18 and 19-21 have been living in emergency accommodation in Celbridge and Leixlip respectively this year and how many of these young people now have a home?

Report: The following is a breakdown of young people placed in emergency
accommodation in the Celbridge-Leixlip Municipal District between January 2020 to date: 22 children in total :
< 12 (15 Children)
13-18 (6 Children)
19 –21 (1 Child, Adult dependant)

15 children have excited emergency accommodation in the following manner:
3 HAP
5 Social allocation
5 returned to family/friends
2 Family hub
There are 7 children currently placed in emergency accommodation in the Celbridge Leixlip Municipal District.

Discussion and outcome: Councillor Liston looked for further details in relation to, how long have these individuals been living in emergency accommodation? Mr. Brady indicated he did not have that level of detail and advised this should be put in as a further question for the next MD meeting.
