Municipal District: 16 December 2022
Motion: That the council outline its plans and timeline for applying for a family resource centre for Celbridge.
Report: Family Resource Centres (FRC) are core funded by Tusla the Child and Family Agency. The last round of FRC funding to expand the number of existing centres was in 2018. At this time Kildare was successful in doubling the number of FRCs from two to four. It is recognised that North Kildare, including Celbridge does not have an FRC. This has been discussed at many forums that include Tusla, however in the absence of national funding it is not possible to establish a new centre. While the council can support local communities to make an application for an FRC this is only possible when national funding is available.
